Since 1 Nov, Nizoral creme is not refundable. A magijet alternative?

Nizoral Cream contains ketoconazole

Answer

Nizoral Creme contains ketoconazole 2% w/w

Excipients; propylene glycol, 20% w/w; ethoxylated alcohol, 7.5% w/w; cetyl alcohol, 2.0% w/w   Following excipients are still used: Sorbitan Stearate; Polysorbate 60; Isopropyl Myristate; Sodium Sulphite Anhydrous; Polysorbate 80; Water purified (Ph. Eur) Ketoconazole has two pKa values: 2.9 and 6.5   Based on this   we can assume that a portion of ketoconazole is in solution at pH = 5 (pH Buffered Cetomacrogol cream) and can be subjected to degradation. So the buffered Cetomacrogolcreme TMF is not a good excipient for this creme. It is also noted the addition on   of Nasulfite by the firm.   so we can use the cream with the following composition per 100 g as excipins: propylene glycol 20 g; Cetostearyl alcohol 10 g; sorbitansesquioleate 3 G; Polysorbate 80 7 g; Isopropyl 5 g, Nametabisulfite 100 mg and water up to 100 g
