Azelaic acid

Answer

A concentration of 20% is now common. An example of a composition is

R/Azelaic acid 20g Propylene glycol 30g hydrophilic anionic cream TMF 50g

Azelaic acid is dissolved in propylene glycol under heating. This solution is added to the hydrophilic anionic cream once in a while, which is warmed up in the preceding light. During cooling is continuously mixed.

Note A slight crystallization of azelaic acid can occur during cooling of the cream in which large crystals can emerge. A post-treatment with an ointment grinder is therefore desirable after a storage stay.
