Can mannitol as filler instead of glucose be used for preparations used in neonatology

Preparations with vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid. Or can we consider better mannitol with silicon dioxide as ' standard ' filler for capsules?

Answer

Mannitol is in each case less reactive than glucose. The added silicon dioxide is a tool to improve the flow properties but not a must. Perhaps in neonatology SiO2 but better cannot be added. Hopefully, pure mannitol also flows well into capsules. Make sure they dry well by drying them for     an hour in an oven at 60 ° C.
