Crystallization in oil-based lotion. Salicylic acid 10g olive oil 30ml castor oil 30ml Sweet Almond oil 30ml

Already tried:
  1. first the 3 Oli ë N in a beaker, then add salicylic acid, stirring up the heat until the solution is clear. After cooling down, the solution was crystallized.
  2. I have replaced the sweet almond oil with arachide oil. After warming up the solution was clear but after cooling, this solution also crystallized.

Answer

  1. In The Galenic formulary is a formula with salicylic acid under lotions to iron on the skull skin; an improved NF formula, which can help you on the road.
  2. of all oils present, castor oil is the best solvent for salicylic acid; also isopropyl Myristaat is a good solvent; see 1.
  3. adding 10g Eumulgin O5 promotes the dissolving of salicylic acid.

But an important difference lies in the amount of salicylic acid, which you should dissolve: 10g instead of 2g!! If dissolving fails then only the preparation of a suspension remains. Also in this case I would add Eumulgin O5.
