An ENT physician asked the preparation of a mouth rinse solution based on metronidazole.

The extreme and long-lasting bitter taste can be difficult to mask. Do you have a suitable formulation?

Answer

Masking of bitter flavors is not an easy job. Apparently, the use of 10ml caramel syrup at 100ml gives the best result. See question about "metronidazole in syrup for children" This is the only formulation, which I have. Provided some customization can they also be used for a rinse solution? I suspect that for your application you should use Metronidazole and not the benzoate!
