currently we are making the gel in the following way:
currently we are making the gel in the following way:
- dissolve
- fluphenamic acid and indomethacin in a mixture of isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, and polyethyleneglycol (AA 2.5 g)
- 17g Carbomeergel 1% weigh
- 20g Carbomeergel 2% weigh
- 3 and 2 Add to solution and mix up a homogeneous mixture.
- pH Control and EVT. Add NaOH to bring the pH to 6.5
Answer
The chosen pH seems to me somewhat on the high side. 5.5 to 5.8 would be better. I would suggest to leave the modus operandi described in question: ' How do I prepare a stable indomethacin 1% gel that does not discolour? ', which is used for the preparation of indomethacin gel. A combination of Carbopol and Klucelgel is used; This is to make the stickies of the Klucelgel. I suspect that some adaptation of the composition may be necessary.
