How can we best use a methyl violet solution (0.5%), used in Candidia alb. Infections, prepare?

If one makes the solution by dissolving methyl violet in boiling water, it strikes back when cooled down.

Answer

The solubility of methyl violet in water is 1 to 20. Now it is usually replaced by gentian or Crystal violet, which is used as a 1% solution for Candida Albicans. The solubility of this product seems to be highly sensitive to its purity. The pure product has a solubility of 1 to 200. A 1% solution can be prepared if adding 10% alcohol. Gentian Violet is also well soluble in glycerin 1 to 30 so that addition of glycerin can also be considered. A 0.5% solution should therefore be feasible. Maybe give it a try with an addition of 10% alcohol as done for the 1% solution.

reaction
We prepared the 0.5% methyl violet solution and let it stand overnight to settle any insoluble. We have opted to add 10% alcohol and the solution has become completely clear.
