My Fluphenamingel becomes liquid after adding lidocaine. Fluphenamic acid 3% lidocaine 3% Carbopolgel ad 100g

with Lidocaine base incompatibility, so we already used Lidocaine HCl. The gel is clear, fairly liquid, but after a few days the gel becomes completely liquid and is no longer to be used. Can we use a different gel base? If yes, still only use lidocaine HCl or can the base be used?

Answer

The TMF describes the formula, which I developed on the basis of a water-free carbomeergel. So it is advisable to use this composition. Even though In water-free middle the incompatibility between lidocaineH + and carbomeer-probably not on yet I would add due to the better recording lidocaine base. An increase in viscosity is possible.
