Prednisolone 21 Phosphate 10 mg Pro suppository 1 dt X does there exist a suppository base that is better associated with prednisolone phosphate?

The product does not mix well with the universal Witepsol. Apparently, moisture drops appear.

Answer

1 ° note : Prednisolone phosphate is a hygroscopic substance, which converts into a hard granulated powder via absorption of water. In excessive heating, the absorbed water is exempted and appears as water droplets.

2 ° Note : Measures should be taken without hesitation to ensure the uniformity of content per suppository. For this we will triturate the medicine beforehand with lactose powder, possibly dry starch can also qualify because of its capacity to bind a lot of water.

The wording is: Prednisolonphosphate 10 mg, lactose powder or starch 500 mg, universal suppository mass Z.A.N. for 1 suppository.

The powders are S.A. mixed in a mortar, the suppository base is melted in the zetpilpan without exceeding 36 °C. Thereafter, a small amount of melted suppository base is poured into the powder mixture, which with this fat mass is well rubbed into a homogeneous mixture. A second amount of suppository base is mixed with the first mixture and then the contents of the mortar are transferred into the Zetpilpan. After having mixed everything homogeneously, the mixture is poured out at the cream clot.
