Prepare Carbomeergel with urea, silicone and paraffin oil?

Composition: Urea 10%-silicone 10%-liquid paraffin 15%-Carbopolgel 1% ad 60gr. Can I use Carbomeergel TMF? How can I bind all this?

Answer

What should be prepared here is an "Emulgel". You can best incorporate the fat phase by not only counting on carbomer but adding a strong emulsifier. For both silicone and paraffin oil, the optimal HLB for an O/W near 11 is located. This means that the   2 G emulsifier, which is added  , consists of 0.7 g Arlacel C (sorbitansesquioleate) and 1.5   g   Tween 80 g.

Tarreer a bowl with pestle (tare weight = T)

Apply in that scale (I)    : liquid paraffin and silicone oil and 0.7 g sorbitansesquioleate (Arlacel C) and 1.5 g Tween 80 and mix   (possibly slightly warm up)

Take a second bowl, rub the urea into powder and mix with the weighed amount of carbomeergel TMF

Gradually add the Carbomeergel to     scale I stir with pestle. Transfer the Carbomer gel, using a panlikker, completely into   scale I

Mix violently until a white gel is obtained.   Pack.

Note: A treatment with zalfmengmachine can improve the texture, gloss   and stability. Do not use ointment roller.
