Saponinekooltar 25% processing in Elocom lipophilic cream and Beeler base

We received the following prescription: R/Elocom lipophilic Creme 1mg/g 20 g; Saponinekooltar 25 g; Image Base AD 100 g This seems to us to be a particularly high percentage of saponin Coaltar. We have already applied several methods (including evaporating the saponin Coaltar on starch) to be able to process it in the cream, but to date no good result.

Answer

We will be obliged to convert the Elocom lipophilic cream into an O/W cream and can do this by adding eg Tween 80 eg 2 g (?). You must observe a phase reversal.

Given the large amount of saponin Coaltar, which in addition to large amounts of O/W emulsifiers, which do not Disturb, also contains a large amount of alcohol, which can adversely affect the emulsion, I would have the method of precipitating on starch and evaporating the Apply alcohol. I suspect that a 10   to 15 g of starch should be sufficient. The use of a hair dryer can accelerate evaporation. If not place on a radiator. The added quantities   Tween 80 and starch   are deducted from the amount of image base
