Like a solution for next preparation: Urea 40g Vaseline 35g buffered CETOMACROGOLCR è me 15g

This ointment was packaged in an aluminum tube. The preparation was hard and grainy after a few hours. What is the cause? The doctor referred an ointment with 40% urea to make the nail week. CETOMACROGOLCR è me is added to make an existing formula (40% urea in petroleum jelly) more easily extendable. What is the solution?

Answer

According to me it's just a bad formula or a formula with an error. You have fat (petroleum jelly) and water (CR è me). Spijts all the fat is the reaction between urea and water inevitable. But there is not enough water to dissolve all the urea and so you get a hard clog.

more urea as soluble in the water present may not be present. Maybe this 4g instead of 40? Either is the amount of CETOMACROGOLCR è me 150g?

now the solution is according to me in the replacement of 1/4 to 1/3 of the amount of petroleum jelly by LIGHT liquid paraffin.
