Is there already a loco preparation for Nizoral oral suspension with sodium benzoate as a preservative?

This medicine is no longer in the trade and our students determine the post-benzoate content via HPLC.

Answer

(worked together with pharmacist An Swerts)

The composition of Nizoral oral suspension according to the Compendium: reads: 20 mg ketoconazole per ml of potable liquid; further: Saccharose, microcrystalline cellulose, carmellose sodium, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharinate, Synthetic cherry aroma, sodium lauryl sulfate, citric acid monohydrate, erythrosine, purified water. I do not think it is so difficult to approach the specialite. Ketoconazole is available in bulk. For MCC and NaCMC you can find combinations in my galenic Formularium   in the chapter of suspensions. Nabenzate is presumably 0.1% and of the citric acid a small amount to set a pH of 4.5. I estimate the amount of syrup at 30% and for nalauryl sulfate 50mg at 100ml.
