Urea 30% in lipophilic cream.

For a patient, who needs a fatty cream, the dermatologist prescribes: Urea 30% in lipophilic cream ad 300g. As a lipophilic cream we use AVA but the patient comes back within the month with a broken cream.

Answer

Lipophilic creams with such a high content of urea are not described in pharmaceutical formularies. The highest level is usually 10%

I would try as follows: 30 g urea; 30 g of water; 6 g Arlacel C; 30 g Vaseline and 4 G cetyl alcohol. Composition for 100 g!!

You are defusing a beaker with spatula. In This beaker you can gently melt the petroleum jelly together with the cetyl alcohol and the Arlacel. Dissolve the urea in 30 g water of 45 ° C and emulsify this solution with the melted fat phase. You can add 0.1% sorbic acid, calculated at the water phase. After cooling, fill with water until Tarra + 100 g
