For a very distal proctitis, the gastroenterologist wants to prescribe Beclomethasone dipropionate suppositories. Do you know a usable prescription?

Answer

Try with the classic suppository mass. However, the very low dose should be taken into account so that it is necessary to use a dilution to obtain a volume of solid material, which is sufficiently large (30-40% of the total mass of the suppository). For the preparation of the dilution perhaps also better use mannitol instead of milk sugar to benefit some of the hygroscopicity of this product, so that the drug has rather a local than a systemic effect.
