We should make a preparation protocol of a SCFA enema (after acetate 60 mmol/L, after propionate 30 mmol/L, after butyrate 40 mmol/L and NaCl 22 mmol/L), enforceable in an Officina pharmacy.

Our problem, however, that we do not get after butyrate. In addition, the preparation protocol from various studies prescribes a pH setting with NaOH to pH 7, which also seems to me to be difficult to achieve in an Officina pharmacy. Do you possibly have a solution?

Answer

I fear that Nabutyraat will have to be involved in a wholesale trade of chemical raw materials such as Sigma Aldrich or Merck, whose most pure form can be purchased. The pH setting seems to me not as a problem considering there are now pH strips, which indicate the pH quite accurately.
