We would like to have a preparation method for a lotion with the following ingredients: Salicylic Acid 3%, Clobetasol propionate 0.07% and LCD 10%.

We already tried the lotion with Klucel, but when adding LCD there is always a precipitation.

Answer

I suspect that 30% of water is still too much to keep all the components out of LCD in solution. LCD is an alcoholic solution. We can increase the alcohol level slightly to e.g. 30%. Or, on the other hand, increase the Klucel concentration to 1g at 50g BV. In order for a higher viscosity to hold the precipitated particles in suspension.
I do not know how to make this preparation. But could the order of mixing play a role? Best to add LCD before putting water on weight. Maybe experiment best but without Clobetasol propionate?
