Why Menadian sodium bisulfite with mannitol? -Should a trituration always be taken by 5% overdose?

-A trituration of Menadian sodium bisulphite should be with mannitol, why? Should a preparation with fat-soluble vitamins therefore be with mannitol as filler? -second question: Should a trituration always be 5% overdose?

Answer

On question 1 I give you the opinion of Prof. Delattre, president of the TMF Committee.

Dans le cas des gélules de vitamin K qui sont faiblement dosées, le choix de l'excipient diluant B est plus judicieux même s'il n'y a pas d'incompatibilité entre le lactose et la ménadione bisulfite Na. as far as other e vitamins are concerned, I believe that the TMF publishes some formulas. on question 2 I have to answer that whether or not overdosing is strongly determined by BV the content of the capsules that are prepared. If the content < 10 mg per capsule of dance is an overdose desired. The characteristics of the active ingredient with which a dilution is prepared, determine to a large extent the necessity of overdosing together with the degree of dilution. In certain raw materials such as corticosteroids, non-acceptable losses to active substance were identified. It is advised to prepare these dilutions with certain precautions like e.g. the use of a smooth mortar. But do you think that a smooth mortar remains smooth throughout   his entire life?
