Under which oral form can HCl be administered?

I treat a pati ë nte, which exhibits a-or hypochlorhythree. A gastroenterologist gave me a composition with HCl in solution for oral intake. But we fear a damage to the tooth enamel. Why is it asked for a different method of administration in tablet or capsule? Is there an alternative? So I am looking for a possibility to apply hydrochloric acid as a tablet or capsule.........

Answer

The answer is the administration of betaine hydrochloride in the form of capsules containing 325 mg betaine HCl, taken with the main meals.
Betaine hydrochloride

Also indexed as: Betaine HCl, Hydrochloric Acid, Stomach Acid
Betaine hydrochloride is an acidic form of betaine, a vitamin-like substance found in grains and other foods. Betaine hydrochloride is recommended by some doctors as a supplemental source of hydrochloric acid for people who have a deficiency of stomach acid production (hypochlorhydria).
Betaine HCl is the most common hydrochloric acid-containing supplement. Normally it comes in tablets or capsules. Only people who have reduced levels of stomach acid ("hypochlorhydria") should take betaine HCl. When appropriate, some doctors recommend taking one or more tablets or capsules, each 325-650 mg, with a meal that contains protein. Occasionally, Betaine (Trimethylglycine) is recommended to reduce blood levels of a substance called homocysteine, which is associated with heart disease. This form of betaine is different from betaine HCl.

There may be a problem due to the hygroscopicity of Betaine HCl. I suspect that the powder can be dried beforehand at 110 ° C. The gelules are quickly filled and stored in a well-sealed glass bottle with dry stopper.
