A geriatrician of ZNA prescribes suppositories with Depakine for a palliative patient, who cannot swallow.

Currently we depart from Depakine E.C. the preparation is quite intensive and perhaps not accurate. The active raw material is not available. Sanofi has proposed a formula: Depakine OPL 1.04 g with novata E 2.5 g instead of Novata B, used by us. Also this mass is no longer available. Could we possibly prepare rectioles with the Depakine solution?

Answer

I suspect that rectioles may be possible. I have not gone into detail because I think that instead of Novata E Suppocire AS2X could be used. This suppository mass also has emulsifying properties and is available.
