Please tips for making loco Peridontone.

R/framecetine sulfate 9.6 g (to be replaced by neomycin sulfate)
papain 150 Fipu 15g
after benzoate 8g
MC (?) mucus ad 100g
peridontone is sprayed between the teeth to exert an antiseptic effect. So a mucus must be obtained that can still be sprayed by a needle. We tried to make the preparation several times, even with 3% methyl cellulose 400 cps (very thick gel) but after adding all the ingredients the gel becomes liquid; There is apparently an interaction that causes the gel to be dissolved?

Answer

(worked out in collaboration with pharmacist V. Schaubroeck)

According to my sources, hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) would be the most resistant to electrolite.
Therefore, I would suggest you prepare a gel with HEC or Natrosol. You can choose between Natrosol 250HMX Pharma (15000 mPa. s) CNK 1607-399 to 3% or Natrosol 250 G CNK 0891-473 at 4.5%. Febelco's price seems to be the first cheaper and it is also the most viscous choice.
prepare a gel and keep water behind for solving your medicines and add this solution slowly to the gel.

with HEC 3% a still liquid but rather viscous gel is obtained. I'm just waiting for the dentist's visit now to hear if it's OK for him.
