This preparation does not succeed: Hydrocortisone acetate 2% Menthol 2% Promethazine 2% in Eucerine, Aqua Dt/50 GR

When rubbing on the ointment plate of Eucerine (60% Eucerin and 40% water) with the menthol dissolved in it. With hydrocortisone acetate and Promethazine breaks the CR è me. What did we do wrong?

Answer

It is difficult to say what is going on, but Eucerine with 40% water is often not so stable. If we focus on lanolin we would add only 25% water. Lowering water content will certainly improve; Optionally, you can also add some more W/O emulsifier. Given the fluidity of the CR è me I would be glycerinemonostearate Eur. Ph. (10%) Proposals.
