The preparation of HYDROALCOHOLIC SOLUTION WITH ALUMINIUM CHLORIDE TMF is not successful with us.

The aluminium chloride does not want to dissolve in the isopropanol? In Alcohol He is dissolved after a few seconds! What are we doing wrong?

Answer

(worked together with pharmacist I. Theunissen)
generally it is said that solving takes a lot of time! When we rub the aluminium chloride finely to accelerate the dissolving, aluminum hydroxychloride is formed, making the solution slightly cloudy. But if we first mix the aluminum chloride with 7 g of water and let it dissolve what can dissolve then add the isopropanol, we obtain a clear solution after two hours of mixing using a magnetic stirrer.
