Question

Posted on: March 6 2013

The processing of Budenofalk or Entocort caps (orally) in Suppo (rectal) is not payable to the patient. I wondered if the oral capsules can also be inserted rectal.

< br/> The enteric envelope of Budenofalk that sits on the granules and not on the capsule itself, provides a rendition of Budesonide from pH 5.5. The pH of the rectal fluid is at pH 8.5. The industry pharmacist of Budenofalk does not know of rectal use of the capsules. Do you guys know of the use of gelatin capsules (not specifically for budesonide) for rectal administration. The doctor seeks a local effect in case of Collitis, Crohn's disease.

Answer

Soft capsules exist for both vaginal and rectal use. But I don't know any application of such soft capsule rectal. And you are now talking about hard gelatin capsules?
on the question box the preparation of a lavement is elaborated. This section was elaborated in collaboration with the industry pharmacist of Falk. Now also this lavement will enjoy no intervention of the RIZIV because of change of administration path. There is apparently an Entocort product that allows a suspension (lavement) to be prepared by the Pati ë NT. But I don't know how expensive this suits the customer.
I see no pH problem. But if we take into account how difficult it is already for some lazy to hold a gelatin-glycerin suppository or a suppository based on ADEPs Solidus then I have my doubts which will be the reaction to a hard object that will not beget there for a while not being begat are seated.
the storage of a hard gelatin capsule seems to me also not evident. There used to be a tool for the introduction of a suppository for those who find this Onhygi ë Nisch. But where to find it?
the modification of the dosage form from oral to rectal, the badger is doing. I have no doubt that Budesonide is available in bulk but not in Belgi ë. Plus budesonide Stat Not yet listed in list I.
This is again an example of the antisocial nature of certain parts of the RIZIV regulation. Pity for the Pati ë NT.

We must therefore decide: try?
