Question

Someone asked us about E45 CREAM (specialty in England).

Via Internet (www.E45.com) we found the following data: Active Ingredients: White soft Paraffin BP 14.5% w/w, Light Liquid paraffin Ph Eur 12.6% w/w, Hypoallergenic Anhydrous Lanolin (Medilan) 1% w/w.

According to the Pati ë nt The CR è me is not greasy. So we tried to make an O/w cr è me with white Vaseline, paraffin and Eucerin. A first attempt with 3% Tween did not succeed. The creme broke. A second attempt with 3% Lanette SX either. The CR è me was too liquid. Adding 1% White wax and 2% Tween 80 also did not give a good result. We didn't want to put the amount of Lanette too high because it gives a "white" layer when rubbing out.

How do we obtain a beautiful, shiny O/w cr è me, assuming the above ingredients?

Answer

Information is also found here.

I suggest to bring the amount of Lanette SX to 6 or 9%. As a preservative I would add 0.2% sorbic acid. In terms of perfume, the water can be completely or partially replaced by Rosewater. Another perfume is of course also possible, but what is the wholesale current still available?

Our Pati ë NT told us yesterday that he could not distinguish the preparation we made from the real E 45. The preparation with 6% Lanette SX looked analogous to that with 9%. We are thinking about starting the preparation as a home preparation. The CR è me fell in the taste on a cosmetological level. He lays a protective layer without being too greasy. But with 12% Lanette N She is cosmetically even better as she colors the skin less long white.
The final formula looks like this: Vaseline 14.5%, light liquid paraffin wax 12.6%, Eucerin 1%, Lanette N 12% and water up to 30 g.
