For the moment I only have 1 alternative: 10 parts honey with 20 parts yellow petroleum jelly.
but it should be able to do better.
There is also much to do to the honey, which should be so but not ordinary honey? Honey should be sterile but not by heat treatment; This topic is apparently at issue in the Netherlands but the information is scarce.
