Use of stabilizer in the preparation of oxygen water?

Is It necessary to add a stabilizer in the preparation of oxygen water (10 volumen) Since the concentrated solution has already been stabilized with polyphosphates? What to add and in what concentration? Does this stabilizer have an interest in ear drops (ototoxicity)? And what concentration of H2O2 is best used in ear drops?

Answer

A stabilizer should certainly be added given the concentrated solution is strongly diluted. The most suitable stabilizer still remains phenacetine and this according to the fifth edition of the Belgian Pharmacopoeia. For ear drops, a 3% solution that contains per 100ml 20mg of phenacetin is usually used. Do not use metal objects in the preparation and wrap in a brown red bottle. Preferably stored in the refrigerator; Shelf Life 1 month.
