We seek a magistal preparation of albendazole to treat an infestation with larva migrans.

In which dose is this product administered to an adult person and can it be processed in a capsule or should it be in a local preparation? Ivermectin is also recommended in oral form but can this be obtained in bulk for human use?

Answer

Although Ivermectin seems to be the product par excellence, however, we will have to forgo this product as it is not available as a raw material for the Belgian suppliers of pharmaceutical raw materials. Aldobendazole is ranked second.
for Aldobendazole I find two possibilities, which can possibly be combined. Ask the Doctor to make a choice.
The first treatment consists in the administration of capsules to 400mg Aldobendazole 1 X per day for 7 days.
the second method is to apply an ointment consisting of 10% aldobendazole mixed with white Vaseline and this 3 X per day for 10 days. Since I seem to have read that severe itching occurs, is it perhaps recommended to add 1% menthol to the ointment?
